Instructions

Super Monkey Ball Jr. controls indirectly — instead of moving your character, you tilt the entire stage, and gravity rolls the ball in whatever direction you've angled the floor, which takes some adjustment if you're used to direct movement controls.

Courses are built from narrow paths, moving platforms, and gaps over bottomless drops, so overcorrecting a tilt is often more dangerous than under-correcting, since it's easy to roll straight off the edge of a path that looked safe a moment earlier.

Falling off costs a life, and running out ends your attempt at that set of stages, so cautious, controlled tilting tends to get further than fast, aggressive rolling on anything but the simplest courses.

Controls

Arrow keys — tilt the stage to roll the ball
Z — jump on stages where jumping is available

Tips to Master Super Monkey Ball Jr.

Tilt in small increments rather than holding a direction fully — since the ball accelerates the longer you tilt, small adjustments give you more time to react before running out of path.

Slow down before narrow sections

Approaching a thin path or tight turn at full speed is one of the most common ways to roll straight off the edge.

Watch the goal, not just your immediate path

Courses are sometimes designed with a specific route to the goal in mind, so glancing ahead can reveal a safer line than the most obvious direct path.
