Genre: Logic · Puzzle-Platformer
Release: 2011
Platforms: Browser (Flash via Ruffle)

Instructions

Shift 4 is the latest entry in the minimalist Shift series: pressing shift swaps the level’s black and white colors, which also swaps which platforms and hazards are solid, letting you reach previously impossible paths.

Most puzzles are solved by chaining several shifts together — platforming a short distance, flipping the world, platforming again — rather than by finding one single correct shift.

Controls

Arrow keys — move and jump
Shift key — invert the level’s colors and solidity

Tips to Master Shift 4

Before you commit to a jump, look at what the level looks like in both states — a platform that’s solid right now might vanish mid-air after your next shift, and vice versa.
