Instructions

Move the mouse to steer your snake's head in that direction; there is no keyboard movement, so positioning is entirely mouse-driven the same way it is in Agar.io-style games.

Hold the mouse button or Space to boost, which speeds your snake up temporarily at the cost of shrinking your own length — boosting burns your tail for fuel, so a long boost during a chase can undo several minutes of growth.

Colliding your own head into any part of another snake's body eliminates you instantly, but the reverse is also true: cutting across a rival's path and forcing their head into your body is the only way to eliminate them, since there is no direct attack.

Tips to Master Slither.io

Unlike a simple speed burst, boosting directly consumes segments of your own snake, so using it to escape a chase can leave you shorter and easier to trap afterward. Save boost for a decisive cut across a rival's path rather than sustained fleeing.

Coiling is the main offensive tool

Since there is no way to directly attack another snake, the standard kill move is coiling or cutting across a smaller snake's path so their own forward momentum drives their head into your body. This works best against a snake that is already committed to a direction and cannot turn away in time.

Bigger snakes are easier targets in open space

A long snake takes up more of the map and has less room to maneuver away from a cut-off, so open areas favor smaller, more agile snakes cutting across bigger ones rather than the reverse. Staying near the edges of a large snake's coil is more dangerous than approaching from open space.
