Instructions

Use the mouse to drag your scanning device across people and objects in the scene; the scanner highlights something unusual on contact with whatever the alien is currently disguised as, distinguishing it from ordinary background objects.

Once the scanner flags a hidden alien, switch to your blaster (via the gun icon) and click to aim and fire before the alien has time to react and escape, since hesitating after detection gives it a window to flee.

Because aliens can disguise as literally any object in the scene rather than only human-shaped figures, scanning inanimate scenery — not just the people present — is necessary, since limiting scans to human figures misses aliens hiding as benches, balloons, or other props.

Tips to Master Find the Alien

Because the alien can disguise as any object at all rather than only mimicking people, treating background props as automatically safe and scanning only human figures misses a meaningful share of possible hiding spots — a full scan of the scene, not just the people in it, is necessary to reliably find the disguise.

Detection and elimination are two separate actions with a time cost

Since switching from the scanner to the blaster takes a moment after detection, hesitating to admire a successful scan before switching weapons gives the alien time to flee — moving directly from detecting to aiming and firing, without a pause in between, is what actually secures the elimination.

Systematic scanning beats scanning at random

Because the scanner only reveals the alien on direct contact with its current disguise, methodically sweeping the scanner across the whole visible area in a pattern finds the hidden alien faster than randomly clicking around hoping to land on the right spot by chance.
