Instructions

Ultimate Flash Sonic recreates the momentum-driven platforming of the original Genesis Sonic games in Flash, with familiar-feeling loops, springs, and slopes across zones inspired by the classic titles.

As in the games it draws from, keeping your speed up rather than stopping to platform cautiously is usually the more effective approach, and each playable character — Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles — offers a different way to handle the same obstacles.

Being a fan project, it plays as a tribute to the classic trilogy rather than an exact copy, so expect the same general feel with its own specific level layouts rather than the original games' exact stages.

Controls

Arrow keys — move
Down + jump while moving — spin dash for a burst of speed

Tips to Master Ultimate Flash Sonic

Keep momentum through loops and slopes rather than stopping mid-obstacle — as in the original games, losing speed partway through a loop is one of the most common ways to stall out.

Match your character to the terrain

Knuckles' glide and climb and Tails' flight both open up different routes than Sonic's straightforward speed, so switching characters between attempts can reveal an easier path.

Collect rings as a safety buffer

Since rings protect you from losing a run to a single hit, keeping a healthy count matters more in tricky sections than stopping to grab every last one.
