Instructions

Click or swipe across a rope to cut it; the candy then swings or falls based on gravity and momentum, so cutting a rope at the wrong moment sends the candy in a direction that misses both the stars and Om Nom entirely.

Levels are grouped into boxes of 25, and each box introduces a new mechanic on top of the ones already learned — bubbles that float the candy upward, air cushions that bounce it, spikes that pop it instantly on contact — so a level pack later in the game combines mechanics rather than teaching them in isolation.

Collecting all three stars in a level is optional for finishing it but required in total count to unlock later boxes, so a level cleared by simply feeding Om Nom without the stars can still block progress if the box's star requirement is not met.

Tips to Master Cut The Rope

Because the candy's path depends on momentum built up from previous swings, cutting ropes in the wrong sequence can send it flying past a star or directly into a spike that a different cut order would have avoided entirely. Watching one full swing before committing to the next cut avoids compounding an early mistake.

Bubbles and cushions redirect, they don't just decorate

A bubble carries the candy straight upward regardless of how it entered, and an air cushion bounces it in the direction the cushion is angled — both override the candy's existing momentum, so a rope cut that lines the candy up with a bubble or cushion is often more reliable than a direct swing toward Om Nom.

Star count gates progress, not just individual levels

Since unlocking later boxes requires a minimum total star count rather than just clearing every level, skipping stars to rush through a box can leave you unable to access the next one even with every level technically completed. Replaying an early, easier level for its missed stars is often faster than struggling for stars on a harder one.
