Instructions

Drag each of the three dealt block shapes onto the 8x8 grid one at a time; none can be rotated, so a shape that does not fit the current board layout has to be placed somewhere it still fits rather than turned to match a gap.

Filling every cell in a horizontal row or vertical column clears that entire row or column and scores points, and a single placement can clear more than one row or column at once if it completes several simultaneously.

All three current pieces must be placed before a new set of three is dealt, and the run ends immediately the moment any one of your current three pieces has no empty space left on the board that it can fit into — not when the board fully fills up.

Tips to Master Block Blast

Filling the outer rows and columns early keeps the center of the board open for large shapes like the 3x3 square or the 1x5 line, which are the pieces most likely to have nowhere to go if only small gaps remain. Placing large shapes into open center space first, before the edges fill in, prevents them from becoming unplaceable later.

A single stray cell can end the run

Because the game ends the instant any one of your three current pieces cannot fit anywhere, a single awkward 1-cell gap left in the wrong spot can make an otherwise-placeable piece unplaceable. Avoid leaving isolated single-cell holes, since most shapes need at least two or three cells in a line to fit.

No rotation changes what "planning ahead" means

Since none of the three shapes can be rotated, planning has to work around the exact orientation you are given rather than assuming a piece can be turned to fit a gap. Clearing a row or column to reset the board's open space is often more reliable than waiting for a shape that happens to match an awkward remaining gap.
