Instructions

Advance Wars 2 keeps the original’s grid-based unit combat — move, attack, and capture properties on your turn — but adds CO Powers, special abilities tied to each commanding officer that charge up as your units fight and can swing a losing battle.

Picking a CO isn’t just flavor: each one buffs certain unit types or terrain differently, so building your army around your CO’s strengths matters as much as the standard rock-paper-scissors unit matchups.

Tips to Master Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Save your CO Power for a turn where it actually swings a fight, rather than using it the moment it’s available — a Power spent on a lopsided battle you were already winning is a wasted comeback tool later.
