Instructions

Swipe or use the arrow keys to turn left or right at forks in the path, swipe or press up to jump over gaps and obstacles, and swipe or press down to slide under low barriers; missing any of these at the wrong moment ends the run immediately.

Coins collected along the path fund power-ups and character unlocks between runs, and certain power-ups picked up mid-run (like a temporary shield or a coin magnet) apply only for the remainder of that specific run rather than permanently.

The path itself branches and curves rather than running in one straight line, so reacting to a turn only when it is directly on screen is often too late — watching slightly ahead of the character's current position gives more time to commit to the correct lane before a fork or obstacle arrives.

Tips to Master Temple Run 2

Because the demon monkey pursuing the runner is a constant presence rather than a countdown, the run only ends from missing an obstacle, not from the chase distance closing on its own — every failure is a specific reaction that came too late, not a timer running out.

Read forks before they are directly underfoot

Since the path branches and curves continuously, waiting until a fork or obstacle is immediately in front of the character to react leaves very little margin — glancing slightly ahead of the current position for upcoming turns gives enough lead time to commit to the correct lane change.

Mid-run power-ups are temporary, not permanent progress

A shield, coin magnet, or similar pickup collected during a run only lasts for that specific run and does not carry over to the next attempt, so relying on a lucky power-up spawn rather than building consistent obstacle-reading skill leaves runs inconsistent once the power-up wears off.
